Lancashire Police have confirmed that a body has been discovered in Gisburn Forest, believed to be that of missing Preston man, Simon Eaves.

Mr. Eaves, 41, was last seen in the Bamber Bridge area on the morning of Thursday, October 23. The search was launched after his family raised the alarm when his blue Ford Fiesta was found abandoned near Stocks Reservoir in Gisburn, roughly 30 miles from his home.

The police released a statement confirming the sad news, noting that his loved ones have been informed, and their thoughts are with the family at this “incredibly upsetting time.”

Authorities have stated that the death is not thought to involve any suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course. Police also expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance in sharing the appeal and providing information.
