Two Young Men Charged Following Knifepoint Robberies in Preston and Chorley

Two teenagers – aged 18 and 19 – have been formally charged in connection with a series of armed robberies at convenience stores in Preston and Chorley, Lancashire.

The defendants are Mustafa Safi, 18, who has no fixed address, and Adil Khan, 19, of Parker Street in Chorley. They face a total of:

  • Two counts of robbery,
  • Two counts of attempted robbery, and
  • Four counts of possession of a bladed weapon in a public place.

Timeline of the Incidents

  • The first incident occurred on 10 November, at around 7.30 pm, when a robbery took place at Premier Store on Avenham Lane in Preston.
  • On 12 November, just before 8 pm, there was an attempted robbery at Premier Express (Vanikas convenience store) on Langton Street, Preston.
  • Two more robberies then occurred on 13 November, around 7 pm, in Chorley: one at the Go Local on Brindle Street and another at the Convenience Store on Pall Mall.

Police Action and Charges

Lancashire Police had previously released CCTV images of two suspects, appealing for public help. Following that investigation, the two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

After consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service, formal charges were brought against Safi and Khan. They are now in custody and scheduled to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court.
